Soda | Pop

Veddy interesting. Growing up in Cleveland, it was "pop." Then I became a "soda" guy during my prep-school years in New England. And "soda" I remained through my days in Arizona, Illinois, and NYC. So it was a strange bit of nostalgia to hear Portlanders use "pop." I stuck with "soda," though, figuring there was no going back at that point. (And I simply refuse to say "spendy.")

Another weird Portland-induced flashback was all the buckeye trees in my neighborhood there. The buckeye, as you may know, is the state tree of Ohio.

Re your earlier post about the Mets, it looks like I'm back to being a Cleveland fan for now. Go Tribe!
